2021 Conference Theme: The Outdoors are Better Together

Sunday, October 17 - Wednesday, October 20, 2021

Roanoke, Virginia

Virginia Department of Wildlife ResourcesConference Host: Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources

Make Plans Now to Join Us! Your adventure awaits at the 75th Annual SEAFWA Conference, hosted by The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, and in the Top Adventure Town – Roanoke, VA from October 17 – 20, 2021.  Hiking, biking, and kayaking will be all around you in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains while connecting to colleagues and friends at the “Up on the Roof” Welcome Social, or at the 1932 Grandin Theater Night Out where you will feel outside!  The Go Outside Festival will be in town too, just a walk from the Hotel Roanoke to discover the air dogs, lumberjacks, fly fishing, kayaking, live music and so much more...

So, let’s get together and get outside because “The Outdoors are Better Together.”

We are designing this meeting to be a hybrid event to allow those unable to travel to have access to content, live-streamed sessions, as well as a variety of other ways for all participants to engage and connect with colleagues in the natural resources community. We’re offering flexible registration options for either in person or virtual only, or both! View the agenda

We look forward to collaborating onsite as well as online and providing opportunities for connection and professional development. We hope you will join us to engage, share and connect with your colleagues in the natural resources community.

As of 9/14/2021

On behalf of the Southeastern Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies and The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, we are excited to hold our first hybrid event. Our concern for attendee health and safety is our top priority. To that end, we are implementing the following guidelines for anyone in attendance in Roanoke, Virginia.

These guidelines are subject to change if new guidance is issued on, before, or during the Annual Conference by the State of Virginia, the City of Roanoke, or the CDC.

  • Social distancing will be adhered to, when possible, in meeting spaces, meal spaces, and in group transportation.
  • Daily temperature checks will be required when entering the meeting room.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the Conference Registration Desk.

Please contact Meg Boera at Delaney Meeting & Event Management (meg@delaneymeetingevent.com). SEAFWA will let other attendees know if there’s a positive case, but will maintain strict confidentiality.

Refund Policy and Risk-Free Registration:

Cancellations occurring from October 2nd to October 8th will be refunded minus a $50 administrative fee. However, cancellations after October 8th will not receive any refund due to obligations that SEAFWA will have committed to with caterers and event contractors.

In-person registrations may be converted to virtual attendance prior to October 8th with a refund provided reflecting the registration rate difference.  However, after October 8th, no refund of the rate difference can be provided.
