Call for Papers

Oral Presentations & Posters

Submissions will have a strong link to the theme: Creative Conservation Strategies for 21st Century Challenges.

Abstract submissions for peer-reviewed manuscripts, symposia, general oral presentations will be based on 20 minute presentation that includes time for the presentation and questions. All oral presenters are expected to deliver PowerPoint presentations. Abstract submittals must include the title, author name(s) and affiliation(s), and the abstract (limited to 250 words).

Submitting a proposal: Submissions for oral and poster presentations will be collected online only. 

Presentations from the Education/Outreach, IT/Licensing, Law Enforcement, and Legal disciplines are highly encouraged for submission in addition to the Fisheries and Wildlife technical sessions to demonstrate that strong integration and collaboration across disciplines leads to improved conservation outcomes.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Regular call for presentations opens: March 24, 2017.

  • Deadline to submit all abstracts (individual speakers within a symposium, general oral, posters, and peer reviewed papers): May 30, 2017

  • Notifications of acceptance will be sent by end of July, and the schedule will be posted online in mid-August.

  • Early-bird pricing registration deadline: September 1, 2017. This is also the deadline for all presenters to register. 

Peer-Reviewed Manuscripts

When the SEAFWA Journal was created in 2013, some new procedures were created relative to publishing of peer-reviewed manuscripts and their abstracts and the abstracts for oral presentations and posters. Peer-reviewed manuscripts and their abstracts will be published in the Journal. Abstracts for the peer-reviewed manuscripts, oral presentations and posters will be published in the Proceedings. Note: authors submitting peer-reviewed manuscripts for consideration will be expected to also serve as manuscript reviewers.

Abstracts will be collected online through the general call for presentations. Manuscripts and questions regarding abstracts and manuscripts for peer-review should be directed to:
